What is PPT to PDF?
PPT to PDF means converting a PowerPoint presentation (PPTX / PPT) into a PDF file. Each slide becomes one page in the PDF, and text, fonts, backgrounds, and master layouts are preserved.
**Why convert PPT to PDF?** 1) Consistent viewing: everyone sees the same layout without needing PowerPoint. 2) Better protection: PDFs are harder to edit, which helps preserve your deck. 3) Email friendly: PDFs work reliably across devices. 4) Print ready: PDFs keep page layout stable for printing.
**How is it different from PDF to PPT?** PDF to PPT is a reverse workflow that tries to rebuild editable slides from a static file. This tool handles the normal PPT to PDF workflow.
**Animations and transitions:** PDF does not support PowerPoint animations or slide transitions. This tool freezes each slide as a static PDF page. If your deck relies on complex animations, add notes to explain them or use a presentation-friendly sharing format instead.
**Font handling:** Embedded fonts in PPTX files can be preserved. Common fonts such as Calibri or Arial are shown through embedded fonts or compatible system font fallback in the PDF.
Use Cases
- Share a presentation deck with clients or teammates as PDF
- Read slides offline on iPad, Kindle, or devices without PowerPoint
- Send smaller and more compatible email attachments
- Submit proposal, bid, or presentation files in PDF format
- Turn course slides into PDFs for students to review later
- Archive presentation versions in a format that is harder to edit
How to Use
- Upload your PPT file (PPTX / PPT / ODP)
- Choose the paper size (A4 / A3 / Letter) and orientation
- Select options such as hidden slides and notes pages
- Start the conversion and download the PDF file
Features
- Supports PPTX / PPT / ODP input
- Each slide becomes one PDF page
- Preserves fonts, colors, and master styles
- Keeps embedded images, charts, and SmartArt

FAQ
Can embedded fonts in PPTX be preserved?
Yes. Embedded fonts in PowerPoint can be preserved. If a font is not embedded, the tool falls back to a compatible font such as Times or Arial. For best results, enable font embedding in PowerPoint before converting.
Will PowerPoint animations be kept?
No. PDF does not support animations. This tool converts the final state of each slide into one static PDF page. If you need motion, keep the original presentation or use a presentation-sharing format.
Will the PDF file become larger after conversion?
It can. Embedded images often dominate PDF file size. This tool re-encodes embedded images as JPG with a default quality of 85. If the exported PDF is still too large, run it through /pdf/compress/ afterward.
Which presentation formats are supported?
The tool supports PPTX (PowerPoint 2007+), PPT (PowerPoint 97-2003), and ODP (OpenDocument Presentation). ODP is commonly used with LibreOffice and OpenOffice.
Can I edit the file after converting PPT to PDF?
Not as a normal slide deck. PDF is mainly a static document format. If you need future edits, keep the original PPT file. If you need to extract content from a PDF back into slides, try /pdf/to-ppt/.
Can I export only specific slides?
Yes. In advanced settings you can choose a custom slide range such as 1,3,5-10 so only selected slides are exported to PDF.
What happens to animations, SmartArt, and videos in the deck?
Animations and transitions are ignored. SmartArt is preserved as static content or images in its final visible state. Embedded video may be lost because PDF support for video is inconsistent.
Are PPT files uploaded to a server during conversion?
Complex decks, such as files with embedded fonts, SmartArt, or more than 100 slides, may need server-side LibreOffice processing. Simpler files can be handled directly in the browser. Uploaded files are deleted automatically after 2 hours.
Troubleshooting
Fonts look wrong after conversion
Enable font embedding in PowerPoint first, then save the file again before uploading it here.
Charts disappear in a complex presentation
This tool uses LibreOffice for complex rendering, so some charts may have compatibility issues. Exporting slides as images first can help create a safe backup.
The exported PDF is too large
Try one of these steps: 1) save as PDF from PowerPoint to compare file size, 2) run the result through /pdf/compress/, 3) reduce image quality inside the original presentation.
Are hidden slides included?
Hidden slides are excluded by default. If you need them, enable the option to include hidden slides in advanced settings.
Glossary
